MARTIN L. PETERSON, co-author of the Idaho 100: The People Who Most Influenced the Gem State, served on the staff of Senator Frank Church and was state budget director under Idaho Governors Cecil Andrus and John Evans and a member of the gubernatorial transition team for Governor Butch Otter. He is also a former executive director of the Association of Idaho Cities and served as special assistant for governmental relations for seven presidents of the University of Idaho. Peterson directed the planning and administration of Idaho’s state centennial celebration in 1990 and now serves as president of the Idaho State Historical Society’s Foundation for Idaho History. He is currently the director of the James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research at the University of Idaho.
