"My search in history is to find places," historian Max Black told the Idaho Statesman. When it came to Diamondfield Jack Daviis, he found some critical places indeed, and rewrote Idaho history.
 

Bio

Max C. Black was born and raised in a farming and mining family in Delta, Utah. After graduating from the University of Utah he moved to Idaho where he has lived since.

He operated his own business for twenty years in Boise. Upon selling his business to Key Bank in 1991 he decided to run for the Idaho State Legislature, and served in the House of Representatives for 20 years.

Max has always had a strong interest in history, making a number of trips to study the Civil War. Idaho history has also been of special interest since moving to Idaho. The research into the true history of Jack Davis has consumed his spare time for the past five years.
